JK and Joel

Show hosts for Remote Control Star:

JK and Joel

An unbeatable, award-winning duo with a long list of credits to their name, Remote Control Star hosts JK and Joel are among the UK’s most popular and recognizable media personalities.

Along with the third season of the tween reality survival series Escape From Scorpion Island (BBC and ABC Australia), JK and Joel co-hosted the all-new talent search My Camp Rock (Disney Channel), as well as the cheeky celebrity-studded series Hider in the House (CBBC).  They also presented the primetime ITV music quiz show Sing It Back, and were part of the Saturday morning presentation team on Top of the Pops Reloaded (BBC1).

JK and Joel began their radio careers independently at the age of 16, and first joined forces on Viking FM’s breakfast show (Hull). From there, they moved on to Key 103 (Manchester) where they achieved record-breaking figures and won several Sony Radio Awards, including two gold awards for the ‘UK’s Best Breakfast Show’. They also presented three TV series — Motormanics, Playboyz and BBC’s Pure Soap.  In 2004, JK and Joel moved on to BBC Radio One where they co-hosted the ‘Early Breakfast Show’ and the ‘Official Chart Show’ for three years, before moving on to Absolute Radio (formally Virgin Radio).  They can now be heard on 96.3 Radio Aire in Leeds where they co-host the weekday breakfast show.
