July 11, 2006

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 : Cineflix CEO Glen Salzman announced today that Executive Producer Sam Linton has joined the company as Head of Factual Programming (Science and History). Linton will oversee the company’s slate of Science and History programs, including Mayday 4, Zero Hour 3, White Nights: Three Days in Jonestown, all currently in production, as well as the upcoming Cineflix series Trapped.

Linton comes to Cineflix from RTR Media, where she was Director of Development for programs including Global’s From the Ground Up with Debbie Travis. Previous to her role at RTR, Linton acted as Director of Production at Discovery Channel, where she headed commissions, spearheaded network strategy and oversaw programs, including the Cineflix projects Mayday, Greatest Ever, and the Ultimates. Previous to that role, Linton was Director of Programming for Animal Planet and Discovery Civilization. Linton was also the creator and director of The Sex Files, a series about human sexuality that is seen all over the world, for which Linton was nominated for a Gemini.

“Sam Linton has executive produced hundreds of hours of popular and critically acclaimed programming,” said Salzman. “It’s been another year of growth for our company and with Sam joining the team, we expect to have further growth in our History and Science programming slate. We couldn’t have asked for a more qualified and energetic person than Sam to take on the challenge. We look forward to working with her.”

“Cineflix is a dynamic company and I am looking forward to joining the innovative and enterprising team, and to working on breakthrough projects creating a new level of quality entertainment in science and history programming,” said Linton.
