Cineflix Appoints Three New Executives to Management Team

March, 2007 : Rapidly growing international production company Cineflix is pleased to announce the appointment of 3 key executive staff to the management team; Rob Carey as Head of Factual Entertainment, Nick Godwin as Executive Producer and Gavin McGarry as Vice President of Digital Media.
Joining the senior editorial team at Cineflix UK in mid April, Rob Carey will take the position of Head of Factual Entertainment. Rob will head the Cineflix UK office, delivering a distinctive range of popular returning series.
Rob joins Cineflix from UK indie At It Productions, where as head of Factual Entertainment he created and executive produced the new BBC Children’s Saturday morning hit Hider In The House. Previously Rob was at Mentorn Barraclough Carey where, as Creative Director, Factual Entertainment and Features from 2001 – 2006, created Britain’s Worst Driver which grew into the highly successful Britain’s Worst … franchise for Five, running for 10 series in the UK and currently broadcasts in over 30 countries.
Nick Godwin is joining Cineflix as an Executive Producer. During the last three years he was Head of Documentaries at Wag TV where he developed and executive produced amongst others: Face of Britain, a three part C4 series about Britain’s genetic history to TX, launching this April; The Escort Agency and How to Start a Sex Cult for C4; Brian Sewell’s Grand Tour, a 10 part series for Five; and Kings of Construction, a six part series for Discovery. He also developed and directed several high profile one offs including Cult Killer for C4’s Cutting Edge and Trouble in Paradise: The Pitcairn Story for C4.
Gavin McGarry has joined Cineflix as Vice President of Digital Media and is based at Cineflix’s Toronto office. His responsibilities include overseeing new media and interactive broadcast properties as well as business development and strategic planning for the company. His talents and experience in new media are an exciting addition to Cineflix.
Gavin comes to Cineflix from Endemol where he was Head of Cross Platform Business Development. His role included developing cross platform formats and new media business strategies as well as capitalizing on opportunities for content aggregation using Endemol’s global network, cross-platform capability and reputation.

In its latest programming news, Cineflix has just greenlit 26 hours of Colin and Justin’s Home Heist, which will feature Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan, well known interior designers and TV presenters as they bring their design talents to homes in North America. The series has been commissioned by HGTV Canada and is due to air in October 2007.
