January 13, 2004: Get Me to the Wedding, a weekly series about wedding planners in New York, Toronto, Chicago and Philadelphia premieres on W Network on Sunday, January 25, 2003 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The series will air regularly on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. beginning February 3, 2003. The 8 X 30 minute documentary series is produced by Cineflix in association with W Network and Discovery Health Channel in the United States.
Celebrating the modern wedding from the point of view of the professional wedding planner, each episode features one distinctive wedding, with its own cast of characters including the planner and her team of vendors, the bride and groom, family and friends. Shot in cinema-verite style, Get Me to the Wedding captures the behind-the-scenes effort the planner makes to stage-manage what is at once both a theatrical event and a deeply profound personal experience, while also chronicling the choices, values and dreams of the bride and groom.
Get Me to the Wedding is executive produced by André Barro and Gail Gallant. Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck are co-executive producers. Gail Gallant is the series producer and Kathryn Liptrott head of production. Get Me to the Wedding is produced with the participation of The Quebec Film and Television Tax Credit Administered by SODEC and the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit administered by CAVCO, as well as the Ontario tax credit.
