Shooting of new Cineflix co-production about tornado chasers winds up in June

June 02, 2003

Montreal, June 2, 2003 – Filming wraps in early June on Tornado Alley, a new Cineflix co-production about tornado chasers in the southern and mid-western United States.

Co-produced by Cineflix in association with London-based Pioneer Productions, the 3 X 1 hour series portrays the failures and successes of men and women dedicated to chasing storms that travel over 300 miles per hour.

Fueled by vivid television coverage and their own desire to seek adventure and knowledge, amateur and professional storm chasers, scientists and tourists from all over the world gather every spring in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas to brave the elements and put their lives at risk while pursuing the fastest winds on earth.

Airing next fall on the Travel Channel in the United States and on Discovery Canada and Canal D, Tornado Alley is executive produced by Glen Salzman, André Barro and Stuart Carter. Chantal Bowen is series producer for Canada. A Canada-UK co-production, Tornado Alley is produced by Cineflix in association with Pioneer Productions, with the financial participation of the Travel Channel, Discovery Canada, Canal D, Channel 4, The Quebec Film and Television Tax Credit Administered by SODEC and the Canadian Film or Video Tax Credit.

Cineflix is a leading producer and distributor of non-fiction programming with offices in Montreal, Toronto and London, U.K. Other popular Cineflix series include Dogs with Jobs, Birth Stories, elove and 90 Days in Hollywood.
