Critically Acclaimed, Popular Cineflix Series Dogs with Jobs Returns with Season Five

December 11, 2003

Montreal, December 11, 2003: With kudos across Canada and the U.S. from The Globe and Mail to The New York Times to Oprah, Dogs with Jobs returns to Life Network for a fifth season, premiering on Thursday, January 22, 2003 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

Dogs with Jobs is the first in-depth documentary series to bring viewers into the world of dogs who work for a living. Each episode captures three hard-working and loyal dogs who help people in an astonishing variety of ways – as rescuers & helpmates, entertainers & TV stars, herders & heroes, therapists & athletes… and of course, lifelong friends and companions.

In the premiere episode we meet Cinder, a female police dog on a force of all-male dogs on the Winnipeg Police Force who was originally brought to the force for breeding. But because of Cinder’s success rate as a patrol dog, the force is now training female police dogs for more than just their breeding program. We also witness Nyack, a two-year-old Retriever Irish Setter and center-ring star of Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus, perform a fast-paced new routine in front of an audience for the first time, and Clancy, the only dog in North America trained to detect mercury, travel all over the state of Minnesota to rid schools of toxic mercury.

Dogs with Jobs airs on Life Network in Canada, and on National Geographic Channels in the U.S. and internationally. André Barro and Maura Kealey are executive producers of Dogs with Jobs; co-executive producers are Glen Salzman and Katherine Buck. Jean-Francois Monette is series-producer. Shelley Tepperman and Sarah Gilbert are story producer-writers. Dogs with Jobs is produced by Cineflix in association with Life Network and National Geographic Channel in the United States, with the assistance of the Quebec Minister of Revenue Tax Credit Program and the Government of Canada Film Tax Credit Program.
