Cineflix International brings series about Hollywood hopefuls to The Biography Channel

December 19, 2003

Montreal, December 19, 2003: An agreement between Cineflix International and The Biography Channel will bring a weekly series about struggling actors seeking fame in Hollywood to American audiences.

Under terms of the agreement, 90 Days in Hollywood, a reality series about nine actors from different social backgrounds as they navigate their way through the daunting maze of Tinseltown, will air on The Biography Channel beginning January, 2004.

“90 Days in Hollywood demonstrates the Cineflix brand of high-quality, factual entertainment combining original stories with diverse characters, while the agreement between Cineflix and The Biography Channel is a strong example of the continuing expansion of Cineflix into new partnerships and agreements internationally,” said Cineflix CEO Glen Salzman.

“90 Days in Hollywood meets The Biography Channel mandate to offer viewers engaging profiles and compelling documentaries. We are delighted to work with Cineflix to bring such a captivating, stylish series to audiences across the United States,” said Tom Heymann, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, The Biography Channel.

Produced by Cineflix in association with Life Network in Canada, 90 Days in Hollywood is narrated by British actor and film-star Richard E. Grant, whose intense performances have continued to shock and delight audiences since his 1987 breakthrough in Withnail and I. Grant is also the author of With Nails – the Film Diaries of Richard E. Grant, a revealing account of the film business and life among its stars.

High on style and attitude, each half-hour episode of 90 Days in Hollywood interweaves the actors’ stories as they deal with pre-audition anxiety, the ongoing and brutally honest commentary of well-known Casting Director Eddie Foy, the nerve-wracking auditions and the tense wait for call-backs in the days or weeks to follow.

90 Days in Hollywood executive producers are André Barro and Glen Salzman. The series is co-executive produced by Tom Parkhouse and Katherine Buck. Jim Brown is the series producer, writer and head director. Ann Harbron is the Production Executive at Life Network. 90 Days in Hollywood is a Canada-United Kingdom co-production.

The series is produced by Cineflix in association with the Life Network in Canada and Living TV in the U.K., with the participation of The Quebec Film and Television Tax Credit administered by SODEC, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, and with the assistance of The Government of Ontario: the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit.
