More Dogs! More Jobs! Cineflix gets to work on Season 3 of Dogs with Jobs
June 04, 2001
June 4, 2001 Montreal – Cineflix starts production June 11, 2001 on Season Three of the Banff TV festival favourite Dogs with Jobs, Cineflix executive producer André Barro announced.
Barro, who joined Cineflix in April as vice-president, executive producer, says launching the new cycle of this popular series is his first priority. “We’ve got an excellent team working on the third season of Dogs with Jobs and we’re going to build on the success of a great show.”
The new Montreal-based production team features Maura Kealey as the series producer and Shelley Tepperman as the story producer. Serge Marcil and Suzan Mawhood are two of the four directors will be directing the 13×30 series and Patti Murphy and Penny Lee Colbourne are researchers.
Dogs with Jobs made its debut at The Banff Television Festival in 1998 when Cineflix president Glen Salzman and series creator Merrily Weisbord pitched the series at the renowned Market Simulation. Their memorable pitch featured live working dogs who immediately sparked the interest of several Canadian broadcasters.
The Dogs with Jobs series, which airs on Life Network in Canada, has aired on PBS in the U.S. and in 49 countries on the National Geographic Channel.
Other series in production this summer at Cineflix include Birth Stories, an intimate look at the life-changing experience of having a child, returning to Life this fall with 26 new episodes; and e-love, a new series about couples clicking on the internet, slated to debut on WTN next spring.
