Cineflix Studios signs Nick Witkowski
November 18, 2010
Cineflix Studios today announced another major step in the
building of its scripted division with the hiring of Nick Witkowski, a
former founder of Alchemy, to work with the company as a consultant on
international finance and sales for scripted programming.
Cineflix Studios was set up in July this year with former Mad Men
exec Christina Wayne as President. It is producing scripted programming
in the USA, the UK, Canada and the international market.
Reporting to Cineflix CEO Glen Salzman, Nick will be based in the
company’s London offices and will be working with Christina Wayne and
the Cineflix team to complete the financing of its scripted slate
through co-production, pre-sales and co-finance deals. He will also
oversee the distribution and exploitation of completed scripted
programming.
Nick has more than 25 years international experience of financing and
distributing high end television drama, including critically acclaimed
productions such as Shackleton (C4 and A&E), Henry VIII (ITV and PBS), Diamonds (CBC and Canal Plus), Burn Up (BBC and Global), The Company (TNT) and Flashpoint (CTV
and CBS). At Alchemy he was responsible for financing more than US$ 150
million of production and overseeing worldwide exploitation.
Nick will continue to consult to DRG in his current role and oversee the
exploitation of the Alchemy catalogue.
Cineflix CEO Glen Salzman said: “Nick has vast experience in
arranging and financing high end television drama. He’s the ideal person
to work with Cineflix Studios to complete the financing on our
dynamic slate of projects.”
Nick Witkowski said: “Cineflix Studios is positioned to become a
leading supplier of scripted content, with great projects on its
development slate. It’s a unique opportunity for me to join such a
talented team, and I am really excited about the contribution I can
make.”
Currently, producing over 250 hours per year of programming and with a
rapidly expanding library of over 1500 hours, Cineflix is one of
the fastest growing media companies in the world with offices in New
York, London, Montreal, Toronto and Dublin.
