The Chilling Documentary Series – Nazi Hunters premieres on History Television on September 13th at 8pm ET/PT
July 12, 2010
NAZI HUNTERS tells one of the greatest real-life detective stories in history. Featuring eight spellbinding episodes, the series tells how a select band of secret agents and avengers hunted down some of the most evil men in history…and ultimately brought them to justice.
Featuring extensive and exclusive interviews with surviving Nazi Hunters, the series starts in the 1960s when the Israeli Secret Service, known as Mossad, were successfully hunting the world for the sadistic murderers who two decades before had helped eliminate over six million Jews.
Episode 1, airing September 13 at 8pm ET/PT on History Television, features the Mossad’s audacious operation to kidnap Adolf Eichman. Eichman, who was hiding in Argentina, was known as the architect of Hitler’s ‘final solution’.
Episode 2, airing September 20 at 8pm ET/PT, focuses on the hunt for Herbert Cukurs, known as ‘The Hangman of Riga’. In one of the most daring missions in history, Mossad agent Anton Kuenzle is sent to Sao Paolo, Brazil to befriend then execute Cukurs without a public trial. This incredible story includes detailed interviews with Anton Kuenzle.
‘It’s very important as it’s really the end of an era”, said Executive Producer Nick Godwin. “Almost all of the Nazi war criminals have been caught or are dead. And in ten years many of the surviving Nazi Hunters will be gone too.
These incredible stories need to be told. This may well be our last opportunity to hear directly from those brave people who relentlessly risked their lives for justice. If the series was not made now many of the surviving Mossad agents may not be able to contribute their unique perspective”.
