Assistant Production Accountant (Toronto)

Producing approximately 200 hours of network-defining programming per year across a wide range of genres, and with a growing catalogue of 4,600 hours, Cineflix is behind some of TV’s most highly-rated brands.

The Role

Cineflix is currently looking to fill the role of Assistant Production Accountant. This is a full-time, permanent position based out of our Toronto office.

The Assistant Production Accountant is responsible for assisting the Production Accounting team in managing finances and maintaining financial records during TV production, and working closely with the Production Managers and Line Producers. The Assistant Production Accountant deals with all accounting administrative duties required by the Production Accountants.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Work closely with Production Accountants to track all costs.
  • Match PO dockets to actual expenses.
  • Input and audit all petty cash.
  • Input and audit all prepaid credit card reports.
  • Input and audit expense reports making sure they comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the preferred vendors list. 
  • Set up filing system for all new Productions as well as maintaining filing as per Production requirements.
  • Input cheque requisitions and invoices for Accounts Payable making sure they comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Share administrative duties and bank runs with the other Assistant Production Accountants.


  • Provide monthly/quarterly Corporate Bank Reconciliations.

The Person

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in production accounting.
  • Sound knowledge of production accounting and related processes. 
  • Experience working on multiple productions at the same time. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take instruction from multiple people.
  • Must be able to work within tight deadlines and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Professionalism and confidentiality are absolute musts.
  • Proficient with Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of EP Global Vista System considered a definite asset.
