Assistant, Marketing and Communications (Montreal)

Cineflix Media
creates, produces, and distributes popular factual and scripted content for the global market with operations in Montreal, Toronto, New York, London, and Dublin.  Producing approximately 200 hours of internationally appealing programming per year across a wide range of genres, and with a growing catalogue of 4,500 hours, Cineflix is behind some of the most highly rated TV brands. 

The Role

Cineflix is currently looking to fill the role of Assistant, Marketing and Communications. This is a full-time position based out of our Montreal office.  

Working closely with the Senior Manager, Publicity and Communications and the Manager, Publicity, the Assistant provides support to the Marketing and Communications team in all key aspects of the department.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

Communications Responsibilities: 

  • Compile and circulate daily industry news
  • Media coverage reports
  • Cataloging of media coverage
  • Post and circulate clippings to all offices for posting
  • Inform internal teams of program air dates and industry market dates 
  • Verify departmental email for Media and PR enquiries
  • Prepare media contacts lists and keep them updated, research new media contacts  
  • Assist Coordinator with industry award submissions and ceremony attendance
  • Assist Coordinator with press day logistics (talent itinerary, schedule, car service, etc.)
  • Update all trackers and spreadsheets (premiere dates, broadcaster info, etc.)
  • Issue daily ratings when necessary (backup)
  • Assist with uploading posts to social media management system (Hootesuite)

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the update of all company websites and portals with necessary assets through CMS
  • Format documents and PowerPoint decks 
  • Business Card and E-Sigs templates and proofs 
  • Sourcing giveaways
  • Sourcing venues for events

Administrative Support:

  • Book travel and registration for industry markets 
  • Meeting minutes and preparation of weekly meeting agenda spreadsheets 
  • Research in general

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong written, editorial and verbal communication skills
  • A diploma/degree in journalism, public relations, marketing and/or communications is an asset 
  • Basic design/Photoshop skills 
  • Basic understanding of social media and social media management tools
  • PowerPoint skills 
  • Some experience working with website back offices (CMS)
  • Team player 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to multi-task and stay on top of essential projects and demands
  • Attention to detail
  • Organized
